Hello there!
Thanks for visiting my web!
How are you all? Hope that everyone is well! How is your summer / winter going? My summer has been alright!
I went to Japan (Kobe, Tokyo, and Miyagi pref.) in July, and also went to France (Paris, Normandy, and Bretagne ) in August. I had many things to do this summer... The scenery around the coasts of the North West of France was something special, and I made lots of new pictures in France.
Well, now I have NEWS for you!
My new, monograph photo book is going to be published this autumn! (from a wonderful publisher in Prague, Czech Republic :)
The title of the book will be "Visions of the Other Side" and will include 2 series of works - "Visions of the Other Side" and "Time Traveler's Diary". It will be my first "hard cover" photo book. And, a beautiful written introduction about my work (by Ms. Kyoko Jimbo, a curator of photography and art in Japan) will be contributed.
Translated in 3 languages - Czech, English, and Japanese.
More details are coming soon in this NEWS page! So, please come back to check, and look forward to the book! Thank you!
I've got to visit Prague often this autumn for the publication. I'm looking forward to visiting the museums and galleries there, as well as shooting many pictures for my current project!
Wishing you a great season!
Take care, and hope to see you all soon!
Best wishes,
Reiko

Hello there!
Thanks for visiting my web!
Thanks a lot for all of your support for my country! Your support has been really helpful for the people in the north of Japan!
We are sorry that my country caused this nuclear problem for the world, and we are sorry if my government hasn't said "Thank you" to your country yet, even though your people had given us lots of donations for the north of Japan! As I heard, my government hasn't said thank you to Taiwanese people yet, so I must say that we are very sorry about it, and we do thank to people in Taiwan very much as well! Thanks a lot to your great support! We all appreciate you very much!! Again, thank you so much to those of you all who supported Japan!
I went to the north of Japan (Ishinomaki city in Miyagi prefecture) last month for volunteering activities. The city still looked like hell because of the Tsunami wave's effects. Near the seaside, there was nothing to look at; it was only a flat surface of land - I mean that lots of houses were destroyed and were taken away by the massive Tsunami waves.
There were lots of mountains made from tons of wooden parts of broken houses everywhere. I saw many objects among the mountains of broken wooden parts -broken cars, home electrical appliance, personal objects, shoes, ornaments for houses, souvenirs from trips, toys... They all used to belong to someone who was lost or survived, nobody knows anymore. It was shocking to look at, but it was important for me to remember the horrible sights in order to help the survivors now and then.
The people in the north of Japan are tough and strong, and very kind. I met so many lovely people in the last 2 years when I traveled to the north. The people in the north were still tough and so modest as I met them last month... Peace and hope must come back to make these wonderful people smile again in the future, but more help is needed for them for sure. I will go back to the north for volunteering next month again... I hope that the city will look better since last month!
Well, the charity show "Socio Arte KOBE 2011" at Gallery TANTO TEMPO for the north of Japan that I participated successfully finished last month. 100 prints in total by more than 30 photographers were sold in the show. (My 11 prints were sold as well :) Thanks a lot to Ms. Mariko Yamada, the president of the Gallery TANTO TEMPO, and many thanks to Mr. Takeki Sugiyama, the director of the gallery. And also, thank you so much to all the supporters for the show! As a result, 833,292 Yen in total including donations was gathered and sent to the Japanese Red Cross and Japan Platform. I hope to continue to participate in such a charity show!
Hope that you all are well! I'm well in Brussels now, and taking pictures a lot and making art everyday! My new photo book is planned to be published next year! So, please look forward to it!
Well. I watched a film called "Pina"
by Wim Wenders last week! It was a dance, documentary-art film that was made for Pina Bausch. It was just wonderful and amazing... and so moving!! All the music used in the film was great as well!
Ok, hope to see you all somewhere soon!
Please take care, and have a great summer!!
Best wishes,
Reiko

Hello there!
Thanks for visiting my web!
How are you all? I'm fine, thank you. Sorry if you have been worried about where I was! I was in Japan last month and I'm in Belgium now.
I'm going to Japan soon again. As you know, the North East of Japan had a massive natural disaster in March 11th. So many people who lost their home in the Tsunami and so many people who had to evacuate from the nuclear plants are still suffering in the shelters... I thank those of you who have been caring for them and supporting them! I believe that when a little help gathers, it will reach them as a huge help! Thank you for your warm hand of support for those people in my country! I really appreciate!!
I will be participate in a charity show of photography, which will be held in my home town, Kobe soon. Kobe had a huge earthquake 16 years ago and it was just horrible. Kobe was helped by so many people in the world at that time, and it has recovered perfectly now. I really appreciate it. I hope that the North East of Japan will have their peace back in the future like my home town!
Here are the details of the charity show;
"Socio Arte KOBE 2011"
Date: Sat. April 23rd - Tue. May 3rd
Place: Gallery TANTO TEMPO
Address: Kensho Building 3F, 2-1-3, Sakaemachi-dori, Chuo-ku, Kobe, JAPAN
Open Hours: 11:30AM -7:00PM (**closed every Wednesday and National holidays)
Phone & Fax: 078-393-0810
E-mail: info@tantotempo.jp
Web: http://tantotempo.jp/newsite/en/index.html
Access: http://tantotempo.jp/newsite/en/access.html
There will be around 150 photorgaphs by 35 artists from Japan and overseas in the show. The proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross and another organization in order to help the survivers in the North East of Japan. I will donate at least 10 of my prints and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to charity.
Please visit the show and please help the charity if you live in Kobe or Kansai. Your help will be very much appreciated! Thank you!
I hope that you all are well. Hope to see you soon!
Please take care!
Best wishes,
Reiko

Hello there!
Thanks for visiting my web!
It's freezing cold in Brussels now, but snow is covering every colour in the city, so it's a beautiful monochromatic season!
My show "Visions of the Other Side" at Galerie Monika Wertheimer in Oberwil, Switzerland closed nicely earlier this month. Many thanks to those of you who visited the show! I would like to say "Thanks a lot!" to Monika Wertheimer, the gallery owner, for her great help for the show and opening and closing receptions! I was very happy to have a show at the wonderful gallery! Also, thanks a lot to Erwin Staeheli for installing the show, and Evelyne and Erwin for their supports! I also appreciate that my prints were selected to become a part of an art collection - thanks a lot to F. Hoffman- La Roche AG. As an artist, it is important that my art can be permanently archived at such a place in a safe environment...
I will post some pictures from the show, and also from my previous show in Prague soon! Please be patient, thanks!
Well, we only have few more days until next year! I've still got many things to be done by the end of this year, and yes, I'm trying to do them now! How are you all doing and what about YOU? Hope that all of you are well and doing well, too!
Next year, I have a plan to organize and curate a group show in Brussels, which will represent 8 emerging photographers from Japan. I will post about it in the NEWS when it becomes more realistic. And also, I'm going to start planning my new photo book which will come out from a publisher in the future... I'm so excited. Otherwise, I would like to focus on shooting and creating for my new projects next year!
Thanks a lot to YOU all for all the supports, sharing time, and good energy for this year! Wishing YOU a wonderful, creative and healthy year 2011!
Ok, I'm running! So, see you soon next year!!
Best wishes,
Reiko

your mind.
Gallery TANTO TEMPO is a wonderful photo gallery,
located in the center of Kobe. I'm very honored to be offered the
show on the "2
years anniversary of Gallery TANTO TEMPO"
as I am originally a local of Kobe! If you are in Kobe / around the
city in May or June, please visit my show and "gallery talk"!
I hope to see YOU all! Thanks!
The next NEWS is...
Here is a "photo
report" of my show "Dreamtime"
which was held at Galerie 4 in Cheb, Czech Republic
last autumn. Thanks a lot for your patience while waiting for the
report! Please click the picture below to enjoy looking at the snapshots
from the show! (34 pics.);

Ok, I hope to see YOU in Japan soon! I'm also very much looking forward
to seeing the Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) in April there
:) For Japanese people, it is something very special and important
to enjoy every spring, since the flowers won't last for long just
like "fireworks", you know? Well, it's a bit longer than
fireworks, but it's the same phenomena that people gather to enjoy
watching the "short beauty". I wonder how it would be if
the cherry blossoms bloomed for every season, and how we would react
to the "common" flower... ? But, anyway, it won't happen,
and Sakura is like the "diamond" flowers - the rare beauty
in my country... If you plan to visit Japan soon, I recommend you
to go there from very early April to see Sakura, and if you do so,
please don't miss my shows by any chance :)
Have a great season soon!
Best Wishes,
Reiko
